hi, ok my dad whats to make little movies on windows movie maker but when he imports a clip it just chrashes. this has all happend since the original sortcut went missing as it the same with a few other programs.

is there any 3rd party programs that will fix it our any thing like that?

How big is your "little movie", WMM loads the files into memory before it loads them to disk, so it has a very bad habit of running out of memory, one reason I don't use it very much.

There's any number of good converters, but some are fairly expensive.

there not that big 10 - 20 mins long. erm would more ram fix it?

In this case it's the file size that matters, if they are bigger than your available memory, you can check that in Task Manager, the memory will bottom out.

In that case more ram would help but it might be cheaper to find an application that writes to disk as it converts.

i thought it was ram ive only got 256mb :tazz: so ive ordered 512mb thanx for you help.
