DVD Burner problems...

I have tired over a countless number of times for my burner to pick up CDR's, and also tried about 6 different brands. Still the same problem, it won't even read it. My DVD burner is NEC DVD_RW ND-1300A. Its been like this for a month now, but some reason it just started then. I havn't tried CD-RW's yet, but I do know it works with DVD+-R/RW.
