c:>type config.sys enter
is this empty
if not please post file

pressed enter and nothing appeared or was listed-the prompt came up again

ok at the c:> cd windows enter
c:\windows>type system.ini|more enter
this should list your system.ini file can you see anything like
C:\ PROGRA~1\SYMANTEC\SYMEVNT.386
The | is the key with the back slash(\) above the enter key

ok at c:>cd PROGRA~1 enter
should now look like c:\program files> if yes
c:\program files>cd SYMANTEC enter
c:\program fies\symantec>cd SYMEVNT.386enter
the prompt should look like
c:\program files\symantec\symevnt.386>
if yes dir/p enter
are there any files listed? dont list them all
the ~ is below the ESC key next to the number 1 key

i'm not sure what is happening...but my hard drive is just screaming...but nothing on screen... should i just let it go.. the light is bright red...or should i stop it

its still going..can't believe i stayed up all night doing this -the time went so fast-now to work or not to work-still going-never seen anything like it -its probably jammed hih?

typing in your commands, master :tazz: i think i'm getting giddy

reboot and try to get to the prompt
c:\program files\symantec\symevnt.386>

had a feeling... you got that...thats why i worded it like that...again...not sure but i dont think it was the works...i certainly did not get the works or i wouldnt have gotten the trojan..but anyway it was the free one...so probably not the works
