I'm sorta embarrassed.. From what I've found on Google, Elitebar is a big problem and there are loads of topics on deleting this thing but I've tried everything and can't get rid of this crap!! I must have a more resistant version or something..

I've been used Norton Antivirus, AdAware, SpywareBlaster - all of which either don't detect it or can't remove it (even in safe mode). I've been through the registry and the Windows folder, and no matter what instructions I've followed it keeps coming back!! And whats even more annoying is that its affected every single profile on the computer, so I can't just use a different one..

I really don't want to go through the hassle of backing up and resetting the system, but it's beginning to seem like thats the best way.. I've wasted a few hours trying to destroy it but no such luck..

Please would someone help?? Thanks!!

Welcome to Geeks to Go. Disable Spybot's Teatimer as it may interfere with the cleaning were about to do.

I've managed to solve the problem ;) There were about 10 files in the System32 folded named kal***.exe, and they seem to be the programs that ressurect the bar, but thanks anyway :tazz:
