Windows will not let me use HP SYSTEM RECOVERY

Hi , i wanted to do a System Recovery ok and i pressed my System Recovery Button and says this: 'STOP: C0000218 {Registry File Failure}The Registry Cannot load the Hive (File):\systemroot\system32\config\SECURITY or its or alternative
It is Corrup , Absent , Or not writable

Does anyone know whats preventing me from doing this and how can i fix this Error ? :tazz:

If you're attempting to use the recovery partition it could very well be that it is corrupted. Do you have a regular Windows XP OEM CD that you could use to reinstall your OS?

If you can't get it to install from the partition then you're only other choice would be to call your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you the recovery CDs.

Your registry is corrupt.

Boot into Safe Mode and try System Restore.

Try sytem Repair:

The last alternative is to try the steps in the following M$-KB article:

Hello i know this may sound STUPID but i dont know how to use system restore i dont want to use it just incase something goes wrong with my PC is there a way you could tell me or not

i have used system restore took it back like 20 days and still says the same any ideas :tazz:
