Hello,

I am having a problem with the winfixer pop up and some other pop ups and I was hoping I could get some help. I am not too computer savvy but I have followed all the directions and downloaded all the programs. Heres my hijack info and ewido:

  • When it starts running it will tell you that you need an active internet connection then ask you to press any key once you do.

• Wait for HiJackThis to open.
• When HiJackThis opens, click Do a system scan only. Place a check next to the following items, if found:

I wasn't able to get panda to work, it scanned 75 percent of my computer and it shut down, I tried it a couple of times but nothing.

You have another instance of this infection on your PC. So we will do the fix again.

• Copy the instructions below and paste them into Notepad for reference.
  • All other windows need to be closed while doing this fix!
• Navigate to the new folder C:\VundoFix
• Double click on KillVundo.bat
  • When it starts running it will tell you that you need an active internet connection then ask you to press any key once you do.
• Please press any key to continue.
• Wait for HiJackThis to open.
• When HiJackThis opens, click Do a system scan only. Place a check next to the following items, if found:O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {827DC836-DD9F-4A68-A602-5812EB50A834} - C:\WINDOWS\Help\SBSI\fontdb.dll
  O20 - Winlogon Notify: dbexp - C:\WINDOWS\Help\SBSI\fontdb.dll
  
• Once they all have a check next to them, click the FIX CHECKED button, then close HiJackThis.

You will once again be prompted to press any key. Upon doing so this time you will receive a "Blue Screen Of Death". Don't worry, this is normal! Let the computer reboot. If it doesn't boot straight to windows, manually turn the computer off and then back on.

Please reboot into the safe mode (repeatedly press the F8 key when the PC is starting up).

Run Ewido and do a full system scan. Save the scan report.

Reboot the PC into normal mode.

Post a new HiJackThis log as well as the contents of vundofix.txt which can be found in this folder: C:\VundoFix and the Ewido scan report here

Let us clean up your PC a little bit.

Delete the following programs and the associated folders, which you downloaded during the cleaning up process -

Vundofix.exe
Vundofix folder



Uninstall Ewido as it is a trial product and the trial period will expire shortly. Conflicts can arise between multiple anti-virus programs and can severely hamper the performance of the PC.



Run Hijack This and click on scan. The following items need to be fixed -

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MMTray] C:\Program Files\MUSICMATCH\Musicmatch Jukebox\mm_tray.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

Close all windows other than Hijack This. Check the boxes next to above items and click on Fix checked.

This will not delete the programs from your PC. This will only disable the programs from running at Start up and result in a faster PC. You can always run the programs manually by using the respective exe files or the shortcuts.

After this, please visit Windows security and critical updates and get all the updates and patches and install them on your PC.

Reboot the PC and post a fresh HJT log.
