Hi..
any file or folder with name starting with 'elite' does not work on my computer..
whenever i try to copy/delete/rename such files, it gives message..

Cannot copy/delete/rename file: Cannot read from the source file

when i reboot, the files starting with that name are visible but after i work for few minutes, they disappear.
i discovered this when i was unable to install a game having several files starting with 'elite'.

has it got anything to do with elitum.elitebar?.. it was detected by spybot on my comp. i used the elite toolbar remover but the problem still exists..

one last thing.. in safe mode, thr wasn't any problem working with such files.. it was only in the normal mode.

thanks for space n time.. plzz help

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
