Hello!

This is just a friendly reminder that this is a family forum so I request that all of the quotes be on the clean side of the "red line".

Nothing has gone overboard yet, but there are a few boarderline posts, so please watch what you post.

Have a safe holiday weekend!

A few that always stayed:

Never deprive someone of hope — it may be all they have.

Mother Theresa
Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly
endless.

"The world is like a ride in an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: "Is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride.......and we kill those people."

Bill Hicks

"Life in the company here is like a troup of monkeys, those at the top of the tree looking down see only a bunch of smiling faces, those on the ground looking up see a bunch of ........."

(Sorry, someone who was angry at the managent told me that one yesterday and I couldn't rewrite it in a family way.)

"We are not the Red Cross at Christmas" and "You give peanuts, you get monkeys" are the ones my boss keeps using.

'Nobody's perfect, and therefore I'm perfect.' - unknown

Yeah, call me a narcissist and whatever, but there are just times when you feel so dull and depressed and so darned low, and it is always cool to have this sort of perky, happy little quotes around to cheer you up in a jiffy. ^_^

some say life is a dream, others say life is reality. All I know is that without a dream there is no reality.

Reading make a full-man,
conversation makes a ready-man,
writing makes an exact-man.

The above is derided from Lord Chesterfieldàs letters and well worth a read me thinks and for those sturdy of their parts, it marits to be well worthy of their attention then, I say what.(meaning this book is ok)

Some of my favs:
I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.
I'm already visualizing the duct tape over your mouth.
Price. Quality. Service: Pick two.
This isn't Burger King™, you can't have it your way.
And of course, my requisite Einstein quotes:
"Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal."
The road to perdition has ever been accompanied by lip service to an ideal.
-- Albert Einstein <<- I don't remember where I initially found that one.
