Hello and Welcome to Geeks to Go!

I know you have run some of these scans already, but follow these instructions exactly.

BEFORE BEGINNING, Please read completely through the instructions below and download the files from the links provided. You may want to save or print out these instructions for easier reference.

First, download Ewido Security Suite.

Next, download Lavasoft's Ad-Aware and the VX2 Cleaner Plug-in. Install Ad-Aware using the default options, then install vx2cleaner_inst.exe, taking all the defaults there as well.

Run Ad-Aware, update to the latest definitions, then click on Add-ons in the lefthand column. Select VX2 Cleaner V2.0 and click Run Tool. Click "OK", then, if something is found, click "Clean" as in the directions given. Click "Close", and exit Ad-Aware.

Reboot your PC and run Ad-Aware again. This time, click on the Start button in Ad-Aware, select "Perform smart system scan" and click Next. Once the scan finishes, click "Next" again. Select all objects found (right click anywhere in the list of found objects and click "Select All Objects"). Click "Next" one more time, then "OK" to confirm the removal.

You will be prompted to set Ad-Aware to run on reboot, click "OK". Exit Ad-Aware and restart your PC once again.

When Ad-Aware starts up, click on "Start", then "Next". Follow the steps above if anything is found, or click "Finish", then exit Ad-Aware.

For a final cleanup, please install and run Ewido.
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
  • When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  • From the main ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
  • After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
  • Click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on Complete System Scan. This scan can take quite a while to run.
  • If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. We have been finding some cases of false positives with the new version of Ewido, so we need to step through the fixes one-by-one. If Ewido finds something that you KNOW is legitimate (for example, parts of AVG Antivirus, pcAnywhere and the game "Risk" have been flagged), select "none" as the action. DO NOT check "Perform action with all infections". If you are unsure of an entry, select "none" for the time being. I'll see that in the log you will post later and let you know if ewido needs to be run again.
  • When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file. Make sure you know where to find this file again.
Please finish up by rebooting your system once more, and posting a new HijackThis log and the log from the Ewido scan.

Hi, ok after I did the downloads again I disconnected from the internet before I did the scans. Just a note I never was prompted to reboot after I right clicked and selected all and clicked next...but I did reboot. After I completed the last reboot I plugged back the internet and then ran the hijack this log. The Ewido is from before the re boot

Also should I delete all of the quarantined items in adaware? I usually do but I left them there because your instruction didnt ask me to.

The computer wont shut down by itself anymore, It goes throught the process of logging off and says shutting down but after ten minutes it is still shutting down so I have to turn off power.

Here is hijack this log

Rerun HJT,and put a checkmark beside these :-

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [uwrhhn] c:\windows\system32\uwrhhn.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winsync] C:\WINDOWS\System32\unuaid.exe reg_run
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CasStub] C:\Program Files\CasStub\casstub.exe -run
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SOProc_RegSoAlertWxLiteNnAj] rundll32 shell32.dll,ShellExec_RunDLL C:\PROGRA~1\SOFTWA~1\soproc.exe -pack RegSoAlertWxLiteNnAj
O15 - ProtocolDefaults: 'http' protocol is in Trusted Zone, should be Internet Zone

now close all windows and browsers and click FIX CHECKED

Then boot up in SAFE MODE

Then navigate to and delete these files\folders in BOLD

C:\Program Files\CasStub << This folder
C:\WINDOWS\System32\unuaid.exe << This file
c:\windows\system32\uwrhhn.exe << This file

then boot up normally.

Please download the Fix_Protocol reg file from here and save it to your desktop.
Double click Fix_Protocol_zones_ranges.reg and allow it to merge with the registry.

Reboot your machine for the changes to take effect.

Then post a fresh Hijackthis log.

how many user accnts are there ?

we need to clean each account separately.

This is for the previous log

please STOP posting logs from different accounts or we will get nowhere.

they will reinfect each other.

clean one account at a time, give them a name or number so we don't get confused. :tazz:

Please Download the following tools to assist us in removing this infection!
  • Download WinPFind
    • Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"
    • Extract it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
    • Dont do anything with it yet!
  • Download Track qoo
    • Save it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
Reboot into Safe Mode
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Doubleclick WinPFind.exe
  • Click "Start Scan"
  • It will scan the entire System, so please be patient!
  • Once the Scan is Complete
  • Go to the WinPFind folder
  • Locate WinPFind.txt
  • Place those results in the next post!
Reboot back to Normal Mode!

Double Click on "Track qoo.vbs"

Note - If your Antivirus has Script Blocking, you will get a Pop Up Windows asking you what to do. Allow this Entire Script to Run, its harmless!

Wait a few seconds and a notepad page will pop up, Copy & Paste those results and place them in the next post along with the results of WinPFind!

Just leave the other account until we get this one sorted.(problem 1 accnt)

just follow these steps one at a time in the order i have posted them.

STEP 1

Copy the bold text below to NOTEPAD.

call it QOO.REG

save it to your desktop.

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\qgqfxmtt]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{249e6804-b1af-48f5-91be-3d032ab9f1d3}]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"winsync"=-

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run]
"llldrqjw.exe"=-

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\User Agent\Post Platform]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\User Agent\Post Platform]
"SV1"=""

STEP 2

Download Killbox from here.

Double-click killbox.exe on your desktop.
Select the option "Delete on reboot".
Now highlight and 'copy' the entire list of filepaths below:

C:\WINDOWS\p5J5e
C:\WINDOWS\System32\unuaid.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system\llldrqjw.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\lglfw.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\vgactl.cpl
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\okoiolt.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\lrtflha.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmximmr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuaumqr.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\tdtn.exe

Open 'file' in the killbox menu at the top and choose 'Paste from clipboard'

Now you will see, this is pasted in the "Full Path of File to Delete"-field.
There's a little arrow (dropdown-arrow) next to that field.
If you expand it, these lines should be there together!

Then press the red button with a white X in it.
Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be deleted on next reboot.
Click YES

When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, click YES
If you get a "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been Removed by External Process!" message then just restart manually.

STEP 3

run the files through killbox again, this time click on standard file kill - unregister .dll - end explorer shell

STEP 4

now go to your desktop and double click on QOO.REG and allow it to merge with the registry when it asks.

STEP 5

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite from
here. Install it and
update the program with the latest definitions. Setup the program
following the instructions here and then close it without running a scan.

Reboot into Safe Mode

Then please run Ewido security suite, and perform a full system scan.
Remove anything found,

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report

* Click Save report
* Save the report to your desktop.

STEP 6

while still in safe mode, rerun the WINPFIND SCAN and save the log.

STEP 7

NOW BOOT UP NORMALLY

STEP 8

please run PANDA ACTIVESCAN

do a full system scan. Make sure the autoclean box is checked!

Save the scan log and post it back here.

STEP 9

Download LQfix.exe and place it on your desktop.
Doubleclick LQfix.exe and click install.
This will create a new folder called LQfix on your desktop.
Open the folder and doubleclick ClickThis.bat
Follow the prompts on the screen.
Your system will reboot afterwards.
Please be patient after reboot, because there is a script running in the background.

STEP 10

rerun HJT and post the log back here along with :-

winpfind log

panda log

ewido log.

Hi
I had some problems with your instructions, on step three I could not unregister dll it was grayed out also I couldnt copy and past all of the files, I had to do them one at a time and when I ran the program for each one it said no file found.

Also on step 8 I never saw an option to auto clean, I didnt see any boxes to check or uncheck so I just ran the scan

the last log there is the panda scan.

run two online virus scans from any of the following locations :-

http://www.kaspersky...oduct=161744315 KASPERSKY
http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/ - RAV
http://www.bitdefend...can/licence.php - BitDefender
(If using Kasperskey, please empty the quarantine sections of any AV or Anti-Spyware programs you have installed before running the scan.)

then post another panda log.

sorry, my mistake, i don't think there is an autoclean button. just the scan.
