I have noticed similar threads to the problem I seem to be having so I thought I'd post my hijackthis log in the hope someone can help.

I downloaded Norton 2005 and have access to a systemworks disk, but once installed neither will load. Regedit also vanishes seconds after loading. Hijackthis I could only get to work in safe mode, and the following log is from that session. Incidentally, some of the posts ive read relating to a similar problem mention ntsysman and ntsysmgr as malignant processes running, and I noticed unusually that these had both been added to my startup folder, is this normal?

Its driving me nuts being unable to scan for any problems, and the machine has slowed up significantly. Sometimes, when things crash recently tens of instances of task-manager (the little green square in the toolbar?) will run and the machine will crash. I am running XP Pro. Would greatly appreciate it if someone had the time to check this over:

Hi saladin. Welcome to gtg. :tazz:

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.

You also have an older version of Hijack This.

Click Here download the latest version of Hijack This (1.98.2). It's better able to catch the latest threats.
