Im not sure if my system just died or not...

If youve read the other post i made about it freazing up...

It froze again and i hit alt cntrl del and it didnt do anything so i hit restart.
It restarted and the monitor didnt turn on, and the PC speaker made several Beeping noises.
I tried to restart it a few times but its done the same thing.

I took the cover off as this has happened before and usually its because their is some dust on the graphics card.

After taking the cover off, i found what looked like the heat sink for th graphics card seemed to have FALLEN OFF? its a blue metal thing, i stuck back where it looked like it had fallen off and tried again but to no avail.

Is the card stuffed? Or the monitor or the whole system?
I cant really afford to replace anythin at the moment. And NEED to be able access some files.

Ive got the monitor to work.
But im worried about the heat sink not being attached to the card.
Its working ok, but after a while it gets really hot and the PC locks up.

Is it time to get a new card or a new system?

You do need the heatsink. Can't you just reattach it?

I could probably get some heat resistant resin or whatever.
But after speaking to some guys and 2 computer shops today i have decided that the card is crapped itself.

That and i can get a video card that they were giving away with doom 3...for a really cheap price. And it will be more than enough for what i need it for.
