I recently had road runner installed in my home, The road runner cable goes into a cable modem which goes into the WAN port of a D-link wireless router. I have two computers connected to the router one is a mac os9 and the other is my xp/linux laptop, which i connect either wired or wireless. Does anyone have any suggestions for security. I am a little concerned because Im always connected now which makes me vulnerable.

I run all of these on my system, except for Kerio FW.

Antivirus
Grisoft AVG Free Antivirus

Firewall
XP SP2 built in firewall
Router hardware firewall
]Kerio Personal FW (windows)
Find a good Mac firewall

Antispy
Microsoft Antispyware Beta - Really good spyware/adware scanner and realtime protector
Lavasoft Ad Aware SE - Good Spyware/adware Scanner
PepiMK Spybot S&D - Good spyware/adware scanner
SpywareGuard - Realtime protection
SpywareBlaster - configures browsers to prevent spyware

Privacy
PeerGuardian 2.0 - IP blocker/filter

Wireless:
Enable WEP or WPA (do NOT leave that network unsecured)
MAC address filtering (remember to add your MAC addresses to the list BEFORE turning it on :tazz: )

That's about all I can think of right now.
