HI ...me again.

Still having the same problem. I either get the message "The page cannot be displayed", get frozen up, or just very slow getting anywhere. If I use the "back" key...I usually get page can't be displayed message. I notice that my little computers in the bottom task bar usually just have 1 computer blinking not both...or sometimes neither. Also, when things aren't working right (frozen), my callwave icon gets a yellow X through it...like things have been disconnected. Sometimes it reconnects itself and the X disappears. I also keep getting "error retrieving update" message when checking on Adaware SE updates.

Once I was trying to open our school's computer lab website. This message was put in front of that address:

Is the auto.search normal??

I don't know what else to do.
I've cleaned out temp files, defragmented, ran a virus scan with McAfee,ran spybot, ran adaware, CWShredder, Spyblaster update.

Could it be an internet service provider problem? I haven't had problems like this until just about 3-4 days ago.

Try downloading winsockxpfix from Here Run it and reboot and try again. Hope this works, if not then we'll try more ideas, your log looks pretty clean by the way.

Took some doing to get on this site...1st couldn't get MSN to come up...page can't display error...so typed in hotmail.com in address line. My web address link changed to www.www.hotmail.com.com, then to http:/www.com.org.hom.php (nice display of their home page...whoever "they" are!!)
From this I could click on "favorites" and get to GTG.

I'll try your suggestion...in the mean time...do you know what .com.org is??

Another thing I forgot to mention is that it's taking lonnnnggerrr to get disconnected from internet. After I hit disconnect it used to be almost instant (within 5 seconds...now it's about 30 secs.)

I tried Winsockfix....thought things were going along pretty well at first...and then!

Ok...I'll try those when I get home on my computer. Things seem to be a little better since I removed the yahoo tool bar. Have you heard any bad things about this tool bar?? Just curious. Will post a new log after checking things out!

Hopefully something will show up...just so I can remove it!!

Hi JonnyRotten!

Can't get into any of the addresses you've underscored above....can't display page error message shows up. Same thing happened when I first tried to get into the GTG site. The bar above the "Start" button had this in it's line:

I finally changed my home page to yahoo...then click on GTG in favorites menu...able to get in....but auto.search.msn.com message came up. I also had the .com.org homepage come up at one time also.

So.....I have the CWSearch on a disc that a co-worker gave me...so I ran that. Nothing showed up there.

Any other suggestions? I guess I'll post another HJT log for you.
