I get an error at startup XP Home on a Clients machine.
C:\Windows\system32\ak8ezdm.exe
is not suitable for running dos applications

Anti-Virus says it's OK
Is this a game file???

I would be very suspicious of any oddly named file in that directory.

The fact the AV program does not detect it does not mean it is OK. AV programs work by defintions, meaning the look for things they know about.

A new or randomly named virus will not be detected.

I suspect a malware issue. Have you visited the malware forum (see my signature)?
