I have installed BF2 and all of the patches I can find for the game, bios, video card and sound card and the games still crashes ALL OF THE TIME. I normally can only play about 20 minutes and the game craches. I have searched the web and tried everything I can think of to fix this without much luck. I also see i'm not the only person with this problem. Any help would be a blessing

Thanks in advance

ok ill tell you but make sure you do not raise them over what windows recommends.

start > control panal > system > advanced ( its a tab ) > settings (under performance) > advanced ( its a tab) > then at the bottom under virtual memory click "change" > now change it to what windows reccomends.

hope that helped.

rule of thumb is the minimum size should be equal to your amount of memory and the maximum should be 2.5 times more.

if you have 256megs ram
min=256
max=640

that also means you have to have the maximum you set it to as available space on you hdd.

ok, you said it crashes. does it crash to desktop, does it give an error messgae? what game settings are you trying to play it on? If you are playing it on high then you may have to reduce the video to medium and see what happens.

there is all kinds of ways for it to crash. I really need to know how its crashing to help further.

thanks,

Thanks guys. I stopped getting the error message but the game still crashes. I set the memory to 3070 for a min and 4096 for a max.

Not sure to tell you how it cashes. I'm in the game and then I'm back on the desktop. No rime or reason on when it will happen. I can play for an hour(seldom) of for a few minutes.
