Please help! :tazz:
Two days ago, my desktop background suddenly change into a blue background with a message posting that i've got the trojan-spy.smitfraud.html.c virus and that the system cannot function properly and that i need to scan my pc with any antivirus available.
Back then, i was running trend-micro pccillin 2002 so i did the scan but no virus was found. Since all my desktop icons were lost and even the windows taskbar wasn't shown, i could not even access the start menu. I had to work with the windows task manager which involves running a new task everytime (thankfully, i can still run the basic processes and so, i even have internet access but i am so pissed of at my desktop). I then researched and it turned out that this is known as by another name by symantec, i think it's w32.desktophijack. I followed the instructions on the page, installed norton antivirus professional 2004 in the process and scanned my hard drive. The virus found was wininet.dll but it cannot be deleted. I also followed the instructions regarding the removal of registry keys in the symantec website although not all of the registry keys posted there were actually found in my registry. I deleted the following registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager \??\%System%\wininet.dll

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
"WallpaperStyle" = "0"
"Wallpaper" = "%System%\wp.bmp"

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{357A87ED-3E5D-437d-B334-DEB7EB4982A3}

This morning, when i turned on my computer, the message is gone but the blue screen is still there and the desktop and the start menu are still missing, only a blue background is shown. I am really turning anxious now.

I have downloaded hijackthis and smitrem but i can't access panda activescan because i am not running internet explorer, instead, i'n running firefox. Prior to the incident, i disabled internet explorer because i started getting unwanted pop-ups and my IE homepage started changing even if i did not configure it to do so. I also have spybot.

Here is my HJT log as of this morning:

Please help!

Thanks!
