After downloading the latest security update, it's caused several -- and I mean several -- problems on my system. The control panel will not open (I get a Windows Explorer error message), it takes forever to reboot and to build the desktop.

Is anyone else having this problem and, if so, what are the fixes? I cannot believe that Microsoft would have released these security updates without addressing any of these issues. And I know that I have not made any other changes to my system, so it can't be anything other than the security updates.

Help!!!!

Welcome to GTG. Sounds like you may be infected with malware. Please see this topic, and post a log for us to look at in the Hijack This forum (it will get a better response there from the people most qualified to analyze logs.)
