double click to open folders not working

Hello again

After my re-install of windows xp home my double click to open folders and files doesnt work. a search window opens instead. a right click shows me that search is above open in the menu. how can i get back to double click to open files? this is also driving me mad :tazz: :)

Open my documents, click tools, folder options, click restore defaults on general and view, close my documents then open
