right click on "My computer" and then choose "Manage". In the new window go on "Disk Management". The rest is easy... LOL

try again after several seconds after boot.
in the first few seconds after boot hadrware database is locked.

its ok i just use compmgmt.msc and i can get it from there. and my friends coming over to halp me parition it tommorow. thanx for all the help guys

Make a start up floppy and do it from DOS as it says in the link I gave you earlier.
