Hi

Someone may be able to help.

I am trying to update Windows, however I can download KB891230 but can't install. Has anyone any ideas.
I'm not sure whether I have a legit or pirated OS.

Many thanks

Yeah after you do Keith's Idea....Why are you installing the KB files? Cant you just update to SP2 in just one shot? I could be wrong here as it could be something else?

Hi Guys.

Thanks for that.

Not good news. It looks like I won't be able to get updates, unless I spend MORE money and buy XP OS.

Cheers

If you downloaded SP2 recently, the XP CD should be valid

If not

Contact Microsoft as some regions have a replace illegal software policy

HI Keith

I do have XP home legit copy, I guess I could always have that reinstalled.

I recently had a motherboard melt down and this was replaced and the computer place installed XPpro. Can I install directly over the top of this.

Cheers

If the computer shop loaded it, then it is more than likely genuine software, ask them what provision they made for re-installing
