Could someone point me in the right direction, probably simple but can i use a wired mouse on a notebook? and if so how is it done switching from the pad to the mouse and back again if required?

Hi. Yes, you can use a regular corded mouse on your laptop. The mouse is just plug and play and you shouldn't need to do anything except plug it in and boot up. You need a PS2 port on your laptop (or a usb port if you are going to use a usb mouse). I do this all of the time because I HATE that little finger mouse you find on most laptops.
