Hi, guys,

my situation is I can't get in my XP notebook in normal mode. If I log in, it will freeze. the cpu is 100% running.

I went into safe mode, ran the trend micro to remove the virus, then ran ad-aware to remove the adware, then spybot to remove spyware. The strange things is that every time I run the ad-aware, it will find new cretical threats. when I run the spybot, it shows nothing to be cleaned.

Now I use hijackthis. the log is as below:

Hello and welcome!

Looks like you have some stuff there.. Nice looking collection :)

Let's start with this..
  • Clean out temporary files:
  • Click Start -> Run and type in: cleanmgr
  • Click "Ok".
  • Let it scan your system.
  • Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only ones checked.
  • Click "OK" to remove them.
  • Click "Yes" to confirm the deletion.
Then..

Download the latest version of Ad-Aware from HERE (if you already have Ad-Aware installed, make sure that it is the latest version 1.0.6 and always go online and update it before you run it).

If it's NOT the version 1.0.6, can you then uninstall your current version/delete folder: C:\Program Files\Lavasoft & empty recycle bin. Finally install the latest version.

Download Lavasoft's VX2 Cleaner plug-in HERE
  • Install the VX2 Cleaner
  • Start Ad-Aware SE
  • Go to "Plug-ins"
  • Select the VX2 Cleaner plug-in and click "Run Tool" (Before running the VX2 Cleaner, make sure other anti-virus or anti-spyware applications are closed.)
  • Click "OK" when asked if you want to execute this tool.
  • If your computer isn't infected, click "Close".
If your computer is infected;
  • Select "Clean"
  • Reboot your system.
  • Scan your computer with Ad-Aware:

Set up the Configurations as follows:
    • Click the Gear wheel at the top of the Ad-Aware window
    • Click General > Safety & Settings: Check (Green) all three.
    • Click Tweak > Cleaning Engine > UNcheck "Always try to unload modules before deletion".
    3. Click on "Proceed"
    4. Click on "Scan Now"
    5. Deselect "Search for negligible risk entries" as negligible risk entries (MRU's) are not considered to be a threat.
    6. Select "Search for low-risk threats"
    7. Run the scanner using the Full Scan (Perform full system scan) mode.
    8. When the scan has completed, select Next.
    9. In the Scanning Results window, select the "Scan Summary" tab.
    10. Check the box next to every "target family" for removal.
    11. Click "Next", Click "OK".

  • Reboot your computer again
  • Run a second scan (With Ad-aware & VX2 Cleaner) to make sure the files have been removed from your computer
Post a fresh HiJackThis log once done. :tazz:

1. I downloaded CleanUP and ran it.

2. I downloaded AD-Aware SE updates today and ran it

3. I added VX2 add-on today, and ran it. it cleaned something.

4. I rebooted and ran AD-aware with vx2 again. it says 1 critical objects which is MRU and track cookies family

5. I got to mention to you, I have winantispy2005 infected. I can't delete it. Once I got into the safe mode, I deleted the winfixer and winantispyware 2005 folder under program files folder, but only one file called shellnext.dll won't allow me to delete.

here is the hijackthis new log file:

Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
  • This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
  • After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
  • Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
  • You will first be presented with a warning and a list of forums to seek help at.
    it should look like this

    VundoFix V2.1 by Atri
By pressing enter you agree that you are using this at your own risk
Please seek assistance at one of the following forums:
    http://www.atribune.org/forums
    http://www.247fixes.com/forums
    http://www.geekstogo.com/forum
    http://forums.net-integration.net

  • At this point press enter one time.
  • Next you will see:

Type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff
Then Press Enter, Then F6, Then Enter Again to continue with the fix.

  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\byxxv.dll
  • Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.
  • The fix will run then HijackThis will open.
  • In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {827DC836-DD9F-4A68-A602-5812EB50A834} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\byxxv.dll
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: byxxv - C:\WINDOWS\system32\byxxv.dll
  • After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis and Press any key to Force a reboot of your computer.
  • Pressing any key will cause a "Blue Screen of Death" this is normal, do not worry!
  • Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.

Please download cureit;
ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe

Run drweb - cureit
Double-click the "drweb-cureit.exe" and click "ok" in the prompt window that will open, asking "start the express scan now".
It will first make a quick scan of your system, let it clean what it finds, and when it says "done" in the lower left corner click on all your drive's.
A red dot will mark the selected drive(s) . Then hit the pedestrian who now has turned green.
Click on the green man in the right corner, it will scan ALL your drive's, hit yes to all.

Reboot.

Post a fresh HiJackThis log once finished. :tazz:
