Hi there, I'm currently using my parents computer (a Dell running WindowsXP) and suddenly their keyboard is going mad. For about 24 hours the enter key didn't work and when I used B, M or S, other letters and numbers appeared before the letter selected.

Now the number keys do the same thing but B, M and S are fine. The spacebar doesn't work at all. I tried vacuuming the keyboard but this made no difference.

My dad said the computer found a trojan recently, could this be the cause?

Any ideas?

Kate.

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. It could be a trojan/malware or it could be a bad keyboard. If you do suspect a trojan, work through the malware removal guide at
http://www.geekstogo...?showtopic=2852 There is a link at the top of this forum where it says "Do you suspect a malware (Spyware, Virus, Trojan) infection? Please Start Here. " This enables folks to solve most problems on their own. If you still have trouble after that, post a hijack this log in the malware forum at
http://www.geekstogo...o-Here-f37.html

If you want to verify that the keyboard is ok, and you have another keyboard try swapping it out.
