have haxdoor virus on a PC...been told to read an .a3d file to find out, if any, passwords etc have been leaked...how would I read this file....with notepad? no program associated

You can pretty much always use Notepad to open and view a file but it's only a 16 bit application so it's editing abilities are very limited. It would be safe to try. A hex editor might be better.
