Welcome, Lou is Cool.

After reviewing your log I see a few items that require our attention. Please print out the instructions here (or save it in Notepad) so that you can follow along more easily.

1. Download Cwshredder.exe and save it to a folder of its own.

Download it from here:
http://www.trendmicro.com/cwshredder/

Start the program, and click on the Check for Update button. If an update is available then download and install it.

With CWSShredder open:

Click Fix -> and click OK at the prompt.

CWShredder will scan and clean your system of CWS files.

Click Next-> and then Exit.

2. Start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = about:blank
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D1F5822F-1A9F-1B6B-B7A9-1B6471AD1AB1} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vrmssrvu.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E4EC1E2C-82B2-8169-C90E-DEC86C842E9B} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jdoifv.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E4EC1E53-82B4-861C-C97B-D6C86BFF2EE9} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jdoifv.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E766DC8C-A4C2-CBE4-5B2D-AA3670488C0A} - C:\WINDOWS\CDM\nsragaccmo.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [v3tg3nR] qoscisp2.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Gmtpqm] C:\WINDOWS\system32\l?gonui.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [e02mRhd2U] hlpntvol.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Notn] C:\Program Files\apsi\wtta.exe

Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

3. Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

4. Please enable the viewing of hidden files:

To enable the viewing of Hidden files follow these steps:

a. Close all programs so that you are at your desktop.
b. Double-click on the My Computer icon.
c. Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
d. After the new window appears select the View tab.
e. Put a checkmark in the checkbox labeled Display the contents of system folders.
f. Under the Hidden files and folders section select the radio button labeled Show hidden files and folders.
g. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide file extensions for known file types.
h. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide protected operating system files.
i. Press the Apply button and then the OK button and close My Computer.
j. Now your computer is configured to show all hidden files.

5. Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them if still present:

C:\WINDOWS\CDM\ <==entire folder
C:\Program Files\apsi\ <==entire folder

C:\WINDOWS\system32\vrmssrvu.dll <===file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\jdoifv.dll <===file
C:\WINDOWS\ALCXMNTR.EXE <===file
qoscisp2.exe <===do a search for this file, it is probably in the C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder.
hlpntvol.exe <===do a search for this file, it is probably in the C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder.

Restart your computer.

6. Please run these two online scans. Make sure they are set to clean automatically:

TrendMicro's HouseCall
ActiveScan <====save the scan log and add it to your reply

You should try to delete any files that these scanners are unable to clean. Then let us know if its working better and what the scans found.

7. Copy everything inside the quote box below (starting with dir) and paste it into notepad. Go up to "File > Save As" and click the drop-down box to change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as findfile.bat on your Desktop.

dir C:\WINDOWS\system32\l?gonui.exe /a h > files.txt
notepad files.txt

Locate findfile.bat on your Desktop and double-click on it. It will open Notepad with some text in it. Save it. I will ask for it in your reply.

Please reply to this post with a new HiJackThis log, the files.txt you created in the last step, and the scan log from the Panda Active Scan.

Lou is Cool:

Sorry about the scan, I will get you to do it again in a step below. I have updated the link. :tazz:

Your log looks better, in fact there is nothing visible in your log. This does not mean you are totally clean. Let's do a little clean-up and see where we are after this post. Let me know if you still have any symptoms of malware/spyware remaining. The more details you provide, the easier it will be for me to help you. :)

After reviewing your log I see a few items that require our attention. Please print out the instructions here (or save it in Notepad) so that you can follow along more easily.

1. To disable SpySweeper Shields
  • Click Shields on the left.
  • Click Internet Explorer and uncheck all items.
  • Click Windows System and uncheck all items.
  • Click Startup Programs and uncheck all items.
  • Exit Spysweeper.

2. Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

3. Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them if still present:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\l?gonui.exe <===file. !Please be careful! There is also a file called logonui.exe -THIS IS A VALID FILE. The one you should delete is the other! If you look at the details, the date of the file to delete is 09/08/2005, the file size 401,408 bytes!

4. Restart your computer.

5. Please run this online scan. Make sure it is set-up to clean automatically:

ActiveScan <====save the scan log and add it to your reply

Please reply to this post with a new HiJackThis log, and the scan log from the Panda Active Scan.

Thanks,

JC
