Hello citybchgrl and Welcome

We have quite a bit of work to do. Just follow my directions as closely as you can and we will get you fixed up

Please download L2m9xfix here:
http://www.geekstogo...ds/l2m9xfix.exe

Save it to the desktop and run it. Extract the files, and then open the l2m9xfix folder you just created and run RunThis.bat.

A window will open, and your desktop will disappear, then reappear. Please be patient until the batch says it is completed.

Then please restart your computer, and post the entire text of the log.txt file which should be in the same folder as RunThis.bat

After you post the above

Download the following tools
  • Download WinPFind
    • Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"
    • Extract it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
    • Dont do anything with it yet!
  • Download Track qoo
    • Save it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
Reboot into Safe Mode
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Doubleclick WinPFind.exe
  • Click "Start Scan"
  • It will scan the entire System, so please be patient!
  • Once the Scan is Complete
  • Go to the WinPFind folder
  • Locate WinPFind.txt
  • Place those results in the next post!
Reboot back to Normal Mode!

Double Click on "Track qoo.vbs"

Note - If you Antivirus has Script Blocking, you will get a Pop Up Windows asking you what to do. Allow this Entire Script to Run, its harmless!

Wait a few seconds and a notepad page will pop up, Copy & Paste those results and place them in the next post along with the results of WinPFind!

Dont worry i seem to have this problem alot lately. Lets clean your log a bit then tackle the big one :tazz:

Click here to download Pocket Killbox by Option^Explicit

Please remove these entries from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel(if present):

SurfSideKick 3

Please note any other programs that you dont recognize in that list in your next response

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PSof1] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\PSof1.exe
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {02EE5B04-F144-47BB-83FB-A60BD91B74A9} - C:\PROGRAM FILES\SURFSIDEKICK 3\SSKBHO.DLL
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [exp.exe] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\exp.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [rmgmin] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\R090405.STUB.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [autoupdate] rundll32 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WUAUCLT.DLL,SHStart
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [vidctrl] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VIDCTRL\VIDCTRL.EXE

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.

Now open pocketkillbox Select the option "Delete on reboot".
Now highlight and 'copy' (Ctrl + C) the entire list of filepaths below:
Click 'File' on the killbox menu at the top and choose 'Paste from clipboard'
The entire list should now be in the "Full Path of File to Delete"
field. To check, click on the dropdown-arrow next to that field.
If you expand it, these lines should all be there

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\PSof1.exe
C:\PROGRAM FILES\SURFSIDEKICK 3
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\exp.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\R090405.STUB.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WUAUCLT.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VIDCTRL
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows\mc-58-12-0000120.exe

Then press the red button with a white X in it.
Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be deleted on next reboot, click YES.When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, click YES

After the above

Please download FindQoologic from here
http://forums.net-in...=post&id=134981

Hello :tazz:

Lets try to finish it off

Please save the list of files for killbox below to notepad and save them to your desktop so you can copy and paste in safemode

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Open Pocket Killbox and Copy & Paste the entries below into the "Full Path of File to Delete"

C:\WINDOWS\NILICNO.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\KFKFM.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VGACTL.CPL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\nsvsvc
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WUAUCLT.DLL

As you Paste each entry into Killbox, place a tick by any of these Selections available

"Delete on Reboot"
"Unregister .dll before Deleting"

Click the Red Circle with the White X in the Middle to Delete!

Restart in Safe Mode

Please reboot into safe mode Safe mode(continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Please delete these folders using Windows Explorer(if present):

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\nsvsvc

Open Killbox and the notepad document you saved to your desktp
Run those files through Killbox once more to be sure nothing survived.

This time place a tick by any of these selections available

"Standard File Kill"
"End Explorer Shell while Killing File"
"Unregister .dll before Deleting"

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [autoupdate] rundll32 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WUAUCLT.DLL,SHStart
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Nsv] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\nsvsvc\nsvsvc.exe

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.

Restart back in Normal Mode and Post a fresh HijackThis log and a find.qoo log

Dont know if we are there yet but during the delay a brand new fix came out for your infection so lets try it :tazz:

Please download QooFix9x and save it to your desktop. Do NOT run it yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Once in Safe Mode, please open the QooFix9x folder on your desktop and run RunThis.bat. If you get a warning about running MS-DOS programs in Safe Mode, please just click OK to continue. Follow the prompts.

When the tool is finished, please reboot back into normal mode, and post a new HijackThis log, along with the entire contents of the log.txt file in the QooFix9x folder.

Great :tazz:

Please run this online virus scan:
Panda Active Scan You need to use Internet Explorer for this scan.
  • Once you get to the Panda site, scroll down a bit and click on Scan your PC
  • A new window will appear; click on Check Now!
  • A new window will appear; fill in the boxes (Country, State, email addy)
  • Click on Scan Now! >
If you have never used ActiveScan before, you will be prompted to install an ActiveX control (asinst.cab) : click on Install. Panda will install the component, and then install the latest signature files.
  • From "Select a device to scan...", choose "My Computer"
  • Allow the scan to run. It'll take a while.
  • When complete, click on "See Report", and then on "Save report"; save it to a convenient location.
  • I will need you to post that report in your next reply; simply open the text file, then copy/paste the content here. Also post a new Hijack log

Thanks :)
