Looks like I have the same problem as many people on here. I keep getting popus for winfixer, some dating site, and others. I have tried to follow the solutions from other topics, but my files dont match up and therefore I am not getting any results. Here is my HJT log.

• Click SCAN and SAVE LOG. (a notepad window will open with the log in it when you click Save Log) (Ctrl-A to'select all', Ctrl-C to 'copy')
  
• POST the log into this thread using 'Add Reply' (Ctrl-V to 'paste')

DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES OR CLICK "FIX CHECKED" UNTIL WE CHECK THE LOG, AS MOST OF THE FILES ARE LEGIT AND VITAL TO THE FUNCTION OF YOUR COMPUTER

1. Download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe.
• After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
• Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat

2. Download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).

Set the program up as follows:

• Click "Options..."
• Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
• Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
  • Empty Recycle Bins
  • Delete Cookies
  • Delete Prefetch files
  • Cleanup! All Users
• Click OK
• Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

3. Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

4. Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

I tried but came across some problems.

1) i downloaded vundofix.exe but when i double click on it to install it does not create a new folder. It simply puts the vundofix.exe file in another location (does this make sense)?

2) when I entered into vundofix in safe mode, i followed the instructions. However after press F6 then enter it asks me to put in the second command (or something similar to that). I dont know what to do at this point.

3) Hijack this does not open automatically

4) when I checked those items and click 'fix checked' in HJT I am prompted to restart my computer for optimal results. Should I be doing this?

Give yourself a break man. It isn't your fault. Apparently, they have come out with the new highly anticipated version and I gave you old version instructions. It happens to the best of us.

1. DELETE all copies of VundowFix from your computer.

2. REBOOT your system.

3. Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

I created a folder called "vundofix" myself. It appears that the exe. creates all the files but does not create a folder to put them in (at least for me it didn)

Yes, I discovered this myself after posting to you. They went back to a way that was used 3 weeks ago instead of coding the new way. I have already alerted the developer of the oversight.

I need to disable your Microsoft AntiSpyware Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes.

• Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
• Click on Options, Settings.
• In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
• Under Startup Options uncheck: Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
• Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck: Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
• After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
• Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware

• Please RUN HijackThis.
  . Click the SCAN button to produce a log.
