i used ewido to clean my computer and after it was done deleting spyware and everything else it said it couldnt get rid of one becuase it was attatched to another file. i accidently told it to erase the file and now i am wondering how to get it back. everytime i restart my computer it says that there is an error loading a program because a file is missing and i bet it is that file. there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with my computer and it is running fine but i probably need it back. whats missing is the app id seperator in C:/program files\compaq connections\6750491\program. i have a recovery cd but i have never used one so can i get the file from there or is there a good program to get that file. thanks.

The first thing you should do is to open Ewido, and click on the "Quarantine" button. If that file is there, restore it. Then I would suggest following Tony's advice and posting a HijackThis log in the Malware forum, along with a report from Ewido, so we can properly help you clean the infection without losing any of your files!

i tried using the quarantine button but nothing came up. i have a backup cd somewhere of all my programs but i dont know if i can just grab one file off it.
