Hi, I have a new question. I have a friend whos Computer has Windows
XP Pro, set up with a password Log On to open Windows, and it appears
that someone may have changed the password, but no one seems to
know who, or what the new password may be.

Is there some way to get into the Windows and correct or change the
password without having to re-install the Windows ? Any help or
suggestions would be very much appreciated and many thanks. Al

Try here if the changed password applies to a user account

http://support.micro...kb;en-us;321305

If you have lost the administrator password, you won't be able to log on and you may need to use a drive wiper to uninstall

If you boot to safe mode and click administrator, you may log on, if no password was set, leave the box blank and press enter

Thank you so very much for your information, will try the information
posted on the Microsoft Site and hope it works, again I thank you. Al

Hi again, I may be a pest but, I recieved the Hard Drive in the mail
today from my friend to try and correct the problem and when I
plug the Hard drive in My Computer, it goes to the Menu that says
Safe Mode - Etc.
Last known good startup
Start Windows Normally - I have tried the different settings, but
the computer hangs there.

Any possible hints or information would be a great help, to get this
Hard Drive to get to the Welcome Window, and many thanks again

Al.
