WARNING: not all files found by this scanner are bad. Consult with a knowledgable person before proceeding.

If you see a message in the titlebar saying "Not responding..." you can ignore it. Windows somethimes displays this message due to the high volume of disk I/O. As long as the hard disk light is flashing, the program is still working properly.

Thanks. Actually it is running worse than ever before. We were planning a XP repair (because of the keyboard problem) when this malware problem came up. Now in addition to that I have noticed some other problems.
1. When shutting down the machine it usually does not work right away. Sometimes if I wait about a minute it will shut down. Sometimes I have to repeat the process 2-3-4-times. Sometimes I have to shut down manually.
2. When I try to change the text size (View > Text Size) no change.
3. Everything is running extremely slowly. Ex: My cute little mini-golf game is now in slow motion.

Seems like there is something else but it escapes me at the moment. :tazz:

OK I'm 99% sure that item in the recycle bin is no good then. I recommend going and working with Michael on the repair. Theres no malware that I can see and if there is I sure can't get at it. As persistant as this thing has been I recommend staying off the net Other than here until you get the repair done. As always I will leave this thread open until you tell me to close it :tazz:

Hello Silvermine

Yes I think you could do this yourself :tazz: .....Do you notice any correlation as to when this appears and where you are at on the web. Just grasping at straws here. I hate winfixer by the way

Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
  • This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
  • After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
  • Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
  • You will first be presented with a warning.
    It should look like this

    VundoFix V2.15 by Atri
By using VundoFix you agree that you are doing so at your own risk
    Press enter to continue....

  • At this point press enter one time.
  • Next you will see:

Please Type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff
    and then press enter:

  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\fccda.dll
  • Press Enter to continue with the fix.
  • Next you will see:

Please type in the second filepath as instructed by the forum
    staff then press enter:

  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):C:\WINDOWS\system32\adccf.*
  • Press Enter to continue with the fix.
  • The fix will run then HijackThis will open, if it does not open automatically please open it manually.
  • In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {B313D637-F405-4052-AC37-E2119AB3C8F8} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\fccda.dll
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: fccda - C:\WINDOWS\system32\fccda.dll
  • After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis.
  • Press enter to exit the program then manually reboot your computer.
  • Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.
Download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
  • Empty Recycle Bins
  • Delete Cookies
  • Delete Prefetch files
  • Cleanup! All Users
Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic
:) :)

My "little friend" just appeared yesterday. It popped up immediately after rebooting. The other site (believe it or not) was this one. It seems to appear a lot at sites related to mal/spyware. I'll go ahead and do the fix. Thanks again for your help. :tazz:

No!! You have been a great help! I've been malware free for over a week! :) A couple days ago I was having multiple problems especially bringing up web pages. Sloooowly or not at all. I used Clean up and things were back to normal. Boy did I feel smart!! :)
What I don't understand is why I only get these popups on my wireless laptop - when I use the desk top in the same manner. :tazz:

open pocketkillbox Select the option "Delete on reboot".
Now highlight and 'copy' (Ctrl + C) the entire list of filepaths below:
Click 'File' on the killbox menu at the top and choose 'Paste from clipboard'
The entire list should now be in the "Full Path of File to Delete"
field. To check, click on the dropdown-arrow next to that field.
If you expand it, these lines should all be there

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\tuvwt.dll

Then press the red button with a white X in it.
Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be deleted on next reboot, click YES.When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, click YES.
