Click start then right click my computer, click properties then computer name

Click start then control panel, click user accounts, then click user accounts, click the account you want to change then click change my name

Thanks Keith,
Went there: start, computer right click on properties...
What I am trying to change is the name that is displayed under the "General tab" where it says registered to: XXXXX in the same block as software serial number.
I believe its The full computer name, not the computer discription as designated in the Computer Name tab.

I have searched the registery but could not locate where this Registered to: name is stored.
Any thoughts??

Thanks dsenette,
tried that... rebooted computer .... still shows original name used when I first loaded XP Pro on my machine in the General tab ...

I know its pulling that info from the computer registry but I don't know where it resides, so I can change it.

Any other thoughts????

Thanks Keith,

I searched microsoft's data base several times but couldn't come up with this bulletin..
Although, I had tried to locate this in the registery, I keep hitting a wall because I was going into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows \CurrentVersion Not Windows NT\CurrentVersion....
Thanks for the link.. Problem solved..

To all: thanks for your input!
