Two computers, 2 cable modems

I can't get to the internet with a new computer and cable modem. I have time warner broadband and 2 computers, two modems. Anyone else have this kind of setup? The first system no problems, second system says i'm connected but i can't open a web site.Thanks for any suggestions.
