I am getting a folder added to my favourites upon reboot along with url "nonstopsearch" redirecting my IE. It is also shutting down my homepage control on my Spysweeper Software. Who knows what else it is doing but I would like it to be GONE!

Here is the Log. Note: I did not reboot before running the scan so the Folder that is place in Favourites was deleted (from favourites only) but I have not touched anything else. I can reboot and scan again if required.

You have a number of randomonly named files on your system. We like to start with an online virus and trojan scan. Even though you have antivirus software on your system, it can become corrupted by malware.

Please run a free online virus scan here (tick the "Auto Clean" checkbox):
http://housecall.antivirus.com/

And a free trojan scan here:
http://www.moosoft.com/

Please delete your temporary files. Double Click My Computer (WinXP: Navigate to Start --->My Computer)
You will see an icon representing your harddrive (most likely C: Drive) Right Click on the hard drive icon and click Properties at the
bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin
Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you.

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and we'll remove what's left.

Wow! Been trying everything. Ran the two advised programs.

House call found Trojan Dloader.w in wind\sys\bcifg3 and in wind\sys\70ilim
(I have abreviated the files) It could not clean as it is rated as uncleanable.

Moosoft found nothing when I ran it.

Sopho is the only site that I can find that has something on this. I do not have this software as I am running Norton.

How can I get rid of this Trojan.

no such luck with the TDS3 as it found nothing. any other suggestions. I hate to purchase the Sopho software and it not work. You would think symanted would have some info on this version of trojan.

Try uninstalling Spyware doctor in the add/remove programs.

Reboot.

Run Hijack This again

and put a check mark next to the program listing Spyware doctor.

About your favorites - can you erase all the history and delete it? That should get rid of it.

Make sure you clean out your temp. files and run adaware again.

Post a new log.

Ok here where i am at

uninstalled spy doctor

rebooted is sage mode

no file to check for Spydoctor

ran hijack this in safe mode

emptied temp file (disk cleanup)

deleted the favourite folder (it keeps reappearing) something is still in there.

updated and ran adaware (it found one tracking cookie)

I am beginning to get alot of security programs accumulating in my PC. Can you reccomend what is best to have for Spyware. I have quite a few in there now and I will get rid of what I don't want.

I wanted to do a simple restore before when all of this started but it would not let me go back a couple of months to restore. Something was controlling that as well i guess.

Ran the Cleaner software and it did not find any Trojan downloader files.

I think we are getting closer to the end but I say that cautiously.
