Ive got a compaq presario 5430US model, and it can apperantly hold up to 2 GB; however I dont remember there being two DIMM slots. Either way, the only stick Ive been able to find thats compatible is TS1GCQ2436. Now perhaps Ive been mislead, but does it have to be a specific type or brand to work with your motherboard? Id like more in depth onformation if possible. Can any 1GB stick work with my computer, and if not, what should I specifically look for?

Thank you.

Download Everest Home here

http://www.lavalys.h...p?pid=1&lang=en

Run it then click + next to computer then DMI then memory controller, this will give you max memory size and number of slots

Go to Crucial and see what the options are

Be warned though, some brand name computers will not work properly if you use some memory brands. I would think newer Kingston/Corsair memory should work, but verify the HP-Compaq certified memory brands just to be sure.
