I am running XP, once my system runs for about a couple of hours, my system is stalling, running slow, and sometimes won't even open certain applications from my desktop. If I restart it runs fine so I don't think it is just running hot. I have run my updated virus scan but nothing! ANy suggestions please help. Thanks

Click start then run, type sfc /scannow then press enter to replace the system files, you need the XP CD and get a blue bar, reboot when the bar goes

System File Check will replace the system files and nothing else

You can also do a repair without losing installed programmes and data
