hello and a thank you in advance!

i'm having WinFixer popups getting through my pop-up blocker and it is trying to download and/or scan my computer for malware. funny. i'm also noticing slower internet browsing and my system tray does not always show all the icons it should at startup i.e. safely remove hardware, volume control and others are not present all the time when they should be. i've done all the things on the "you must read this before posting a hijackthis log" post and arrived at this step. please help!

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
• This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
• After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
• Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat

Download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

• Empty Recycle Bins
• Delete Cookies
• Delete Prefetch files
• Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

hello and thanks for the help,
i followed your instructions got to the point where hijackthis started then the computer freaked out while i was in safe mode and i was unable to access anything on my desktop. i restarted (manually) and tried it 3 more times getting the same response from Vundofix saying the file path does not exist (which matched exactly to what you told me to type in). suggestions?

If you got until the HijackThis opening the first time, then Vundofix should have run successfully and deleted the files. That's why on subsequent tries it can't find the files again, cause they're gone..

Open HijackThis and click Scan. Put a check next to these:

O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {827DC836-DD9F-4A68-A602-5812EB50A834} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddawv.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: ddawv - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddawv.dll

Close all other windows except HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Then continue with the Cleanup instructions, but do it in normal mode..

Reboot and make the Panda scan..

Then post a new HijackThis log, Panda results and vundofix.txt..

And please explain further what went wrong in safe mode? Did you get a warning message?

my computer did not go to the "blue screen of death". should i proceed with the clean up? also in the first reply you asked me to run ActiveScan and in the second reply you mentioned Panda scan. which one should i run? if you want Panda (or both) can i get the Panda link please?

regarding the safe mode blank out i did not get a warning i minimized hijackthis and i wasn't able to access my taskbar afterwards and there was nothing but a black screen for a desktop (with no icons) saying safe mode in the lower corners, so i had to restart manually.

Activescan is run by Panda Antivirus..so when I said Panda I meant Activescan

Yes please proceed with Cleanup and then run Activescan and post the results..it will detect adware and spyware if any, but won't remove them..if it finds anything then we will deal with it..
