I have recently switched a slave hard drive from a 98 machine to a win XP pro machine. The problem that I am having now is that when I put the slave hard drive into the win XP pro machine I can no longer see some of the hidden files that were saved on the slave hard drive when it was in the 98 machine. Is there any way to fix the problem or are the hidden files lost. I had the files saved in a Config folder. I switched the folder options to show hidden files and I still can't see the files.

Thanks for any help.

It's possible that Windows XP is treaing those files as system files or operating system files, in which case you still would not see them until you change a couple of other view settings in Folder Options.

"Display the contents of system folders" - check this.

"Hide Protected Operating Sytem Files" - Uncheck this.
