:) Uh oh... I used to have 1 gig of RAM, but now, when I go to "My Computer" and right-click to properties, it says I only have 256 megs. What happened!?!?!

Thanks in advance. :tazz:

Go to Start Menu-->All Programs-->Accessories-->system Tools-->System Information and see how much RAM you have.

Try cpu z see if that is detecting the ram, also what configuration and size is your ram sticks in.

CPU-Z is a freeware utility that shows information about the main parts of a computer, such as memory,CPU speed, motherboard vendor etc.

You can download it from > http://www.cpuid.org/cpuz.php

Most likely you never had 1gig of ram or someone opened your case and removed the ram you had and put in the 256MB stick. It's highly unlikely for a full stick to go bad and then EXACTLY half of another stick to go bad to give you 256MB exactly.
