Lost RAM, Need for BF2

Uh oh... I used to have 1 gig of RAM, but now, when I go to "My Computer" and right-click to properties, it says I only have 256 megs. What happened!?!?!

Go to Start Menu-->All Programs-->Accessories-->system Tools-->System Information and see how much RAM you have.

I did that, and it says I have 256.00 MB of Physical memery. It also says I have over 4 gigs of virtual memery. Now I'm confused! :tazz:

Well,I'm supposed to have 1 GB, and I only have 256 MB. I'm confused too.

Try cpu z see if that is detecting the ram, also what configuration and size is your ram sticks in.

CPU-Z is a freeware utility that shows information about the main parts of a computer, such as memory,CPU speed, motherboard vendor etc.

Most likely you never had 1gig of ram or someone opened your case and removed the ram you had and put in the 256MB stick. It's highly unlikely for a full stick to go bad and then EXACTLY half of another stick to go bad to give you 256MB exactly.
