I've got a bit of a pop-up problem going on. I'm getting pop-ups of winfix, matchservice, viptravel, etc... Anyhow, I've followed all the suggested malware removal steps and I still have the pop-ups. I have used the Cleanup!, Adaware, CWShredder, spybot, and ewido security suite in addition to Mcafee. When I run the CWShredder it picks up VX2.Look2Me and gets rid of it, but when I restart my computer its back. Whats with that? I feel stuck so I am going to post my HijackThis Log and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Uninstall Viewpoint from your Add/Remove panel.

Download L2MFix from one of these two locations:

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts. Then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing Enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening. After a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 or any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Restart your computer NOW.

Make sure you post the above log in the forum before proceeding any further. Once you posted it, you don't have to wait for me. Just continue on with the below and post those two logs as well:

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing Enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2MFix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new HijackThis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Please download VundoFix.exe at http://www.atribune....ds/VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

* Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files.
* After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key (or F5 in some machines) until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
* Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
* Please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\vtutr.dll

* Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.
* The fix will run then HijackThis will open.
* In HijackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:

Did you install a keylogger program called Keycorder before? Say from last year? If you didn't install it, delete this file:

* After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis and Press any key to Force a reboot of your computer.
* Pressing any key will cause a 'Blue Screen of Death' this is normal, do not worry!
* Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.

Download and install CleanUp! http://www.greyknigh...spy/CleanUp.exe

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click 'Options...'
Move the arrow down to 'Custom CleanUp!'
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

* Empty Recycle Bins
* Delete Cookies
* Delete Prefetch files
* Cleanup! All Users

Click OK. Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.
It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Then, please run an online virus scan at ActiveScan http://www.pandasoft...com/activescan/

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HijackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

I have downloaded and ran VundoFix. I have entered entered safe mode and ran the program. Then I entered the filepath you provided. However, after I entered that filepath I was asked to enter a second filepath. What am I supposed to enter for the second filepath? Or how do I bypass the second filepath? I wasn't able to just enter the one filepath. Thanks for the help

Did you press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix?

Yes. I entered the filepath you gave me and then pressed enter, F6, and enter again. Then it says to enter a second filepath. So I tried just to press enter then F6 and enter again and it said "please be sure you typed the correct filepath. the filepath you entered does not seem to exist"

I tried to enter the same filepath twice but I got the same message saying "please be sure you typed the correct filepath. The filepath you entered does not seem to exist." I then left safe mode and manually opened HijackThis and ran a scan. The log looks a bit different. The filename 020-Winlogon Notify: vtutr - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vtutr.dll is no longer in the log and I have not deleted anything from the log. Here is the new copy of the log....

We'll have to take a different approach then...

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Download Process Explorer at http://www.sysintern...s/procexpnt.zip.

Reboot into Safe Mode:

Unzip Process Explorer and double click on procexp.exe

In the top section of the Process Explorer screen double click on winlogon.exe to bring up the winlogon.exe properties screen. Click on the Threads tab at the top.

Once you see this screen click on each instance of vtutr.dll once and then click the kill button.

After you have killed all of the vtutr.dll's under winlogon click ok.

Next double click on explorer.exe and again click once on each instance of vtutr.dll then click the kill button. Once you have done that click ok again.

Run a scan in HijackThis. Make SURE that ALL your browsers are closed now. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {52B1DFC7-AAFC-4362-B103-868B0683C697} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vtutr.dll (file missing)

Copy the below 4 lines to a Notepad file:

Save it as "fix.reg" (with quotes intact) to your desktop. Now double click on fix.reg and say Yes to add it to the registry.

Delete this file -> C:\WINDOWS\system32\vtutr.dll

Restart and post a new HijackThis log.

I downloaded the Process Explorer. I rebooted my computer in safe mode and ran the program. However, I didn't find any "vtutr.dll" in either the winlogon.exe or explorer.exe. Should I still continue with the previous instructions?

Ok, I got through the fix.reg part and added it to the registry. The next line of instruction after that was to delete the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\vtutr.dll. Where was I supposed to delete that from? I didn't know where that was so I just restarted my computer and here is a new HijackThis log...

If that file exists, it should be in your system32 folder. But according to your log, it should be gone already (just wanted you to double check on that ).
