Hello.

I have this kind of problem:
My Internet Explorer (version 6.0.2800.1106) has about:blank as a start page. Everytime I open Explorer, this page comes up: http://a-search.biz/?wmid=1010

If I change the start page and close Explorer and start it again, it has changed the start page back to about:blank. I've searched solutions for that problem, but I haven't got rid of it yet. (I also have read this http://www.geekstogo...=ST&f=37&t=5922 but I didn't find solution for me)

I've run Ad-Aware, Spybot, Spyware Doctor, Housecall antivirus, Antivir, CWShredder and About Buster, but those have not helped.

So please, can someone help me.

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):

Reboot your PC.

Hi. I've done all that you said, but the homepage keeps still changing back to about:blank everytime I try to change it. Here's the new HijackThis log:

I just found out another problem when I tried to check my e-mail with Outlook Express. It checks new messages fine, but when I try to open any message, it doesn't show the message field (it shows who send it, the receivers, and all those kind of thing on top of the window, but not the message field) The mouse cursor looks like it tries to open it, but nothing happens. I don't know that does the same spyware cause this problem, or what's going on. Same thing happened yesterday, but I thought that Windows was just tilting (so it couldn't be caused by those corrections that you advised)

Log is looking good ( I'm never 100% sure if they're not in English). An infection may have damaged some system files. Let's try the System File Checker. Click Start -> Run, type SFC /SCANNOW, click OK. Have your Windows 2K CD handy.

Hello again. I ran the System File Checker, and that wasn't a good thing. Windows went crazy, nothing worked as it should have. Some errors occurred every time I started Outlook or Explorer (Internet Explorer worked ok) and Windows was sloooowwwww. Any ideas why that happened?

But now everything is fine again, I reinstalled the whole system. Thank you for your advises (too bad that they came for nothing ;) ) Keep up the good work :tazz:
