hi, can anyone help me here, plz!
i just got this new sn25p shuttle, firstly after i install windows xp pro sp2 onto it, i got some error called DrWatson Postmortem Debugger, i didn't know how to deal with it, so i format the c driver, it seems i got rid of this problem, but now i frequently have a small window pop says Data Execution Prevention, in order to pretect your computer, we need Run a DLL as an App, the system dsable me from using anything, even i try 2 run a application, the system close it for me, that's really made me feel hopeless, i put my log below, please help me if you can, big thanks!

OK, this one is a real bugger to fix. I will give this a try and see if it works. Go to this Microsoft site and see if that will make the error go away.

Also run this to see if it finds anything:
Download CWShredder at http://www.greyknigh.../CWShredder.exe and run it. Click on 'I Agree' button if you agree. Click on 'Fix' (it will automatically fix anything it finds for you) and then click OK. If it asks if you want to delete a certain random file, choose No and post that filename here. Let it finish the scan and then hit Next and Exit.

If that doesn't work, we might have to downgrade the Service Pack (post back for more detail).

thanks for your help, i've gone up to microsoft web get the newest updates, i also download CWShredder and it couldn't find any infected item at all, i think because i frequently run noAdware, spybot search & destroy, microsoftware antiSpyWare.
I went to controller panel -> System -> Advance -> Data Exception Prevention:
There are two options:
1. Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only.
2. Turn on Dep for all programs and servieces except those i select.

i have tick pretty much every applications i using, but sometimes when i try to access to registry edit or controller panel or service.msc or my computer those basic system managerment, the same problem jump out and block me, it's really annoying when a in middle of something important, i have to restart, but after a while, the problem happens again. please help me, i really hate DEP now, it dosen't help me get rid of virus at all but troubles! thanks for you reply!

By the way, if i really have no chioce-- downgrade service pack, like sp1, how can i make it work, because the system disc is bundled with sp2, i had no chice when i installed the sytem? cheers, i really appreciate your help!

Just want to know, does this happen to any folders you open? Do you by any chance have a folder with video files in them opened when this error occurs? Most users have that error once they open a folder with video files in them.

So far, all users who downgraded have gotten rid of that problem. So give that a shot.

Good question....Is SP2 listed in the Add/Remove panel? If so, uninstall it there. You may keep getting your Windows Updates as usual, but just don't get SP2. You should be safe since you have the current updates afterwards.

No, it's not happen to anyfolder i open, it just somethings happens when i try to open an y icon in control panel, or applications like IE, words, etc.. or adminstrative tool like registry edit, services.msc.
and SP2 is not in the add/remove panel, SP2 is installed when the system installed, how can i get rid of it, is any way i can delete sp2? thanks!

There should be located somewhere. There are two other ways which you can uninstall SP2. I think it applies even if they come pre-installed with SP2. Before we do that, I want you to run another check first since you said it's not happening just to video folders...

Go to Start->Run and type in sfc /scannow and hit OK. Let it scan. If it finds any files missing/corrupted, it may ask for the Windows CD.

See if that finds and repairs anything. If that doesn't fix the problem, then go to C:\Windows\ folder and see if you can find those blue folders. They all begin with the $ sign.

there were no any folder or file in blue, what is it mean after all?

hi, i have found heaps of hidden folders in blue, i didn't see them before, they all start with $UtUninstall.....$, but i didn't find $UtservicepackUninstall$, i knew from web that folder is for uninstall sp2, can i still be able to uninstall sp2 without this folder?

OK, this is probably best asked in the Windows Forum. So try asking this in the Windows Forum and they should give you a few methods to remove it (hopefully it will work in a pre-installed Windows). Just mention that it comes preinstalled with Windows.

All people i asked told me the same answer: it's impossible to remove it if it's pre-installed. then i search on the web could DEP be disabled from sp2, and the result is possible, i only need to change boot.ini a bit, and i will test the computer in next few days, i will post a result to you, so you can help more people with the same problem.
