When I try and boot into Windows XP, I get a blue screen with the following info:

"STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC000001D, 0xF82E5B74, 0xF89454BC, 0xF89451B8)

NDIS.sys - Address F82E5B74 base at F82D8000, DateStamp 41107ec3"

What does this mean, and how do I fix it?

No joystick. I read an article where something similar happened with Logitec devices, none of those either.

How did you install XP? Was the installation done with a retail version of the software?

I installed it from a cd almost 3 years ago.

For this kind or error we need to know
1) What type of computer -Compaq?
2) is this a windows xp upgrade
3) Did you just install Service pack 2
4) Did you install any new hardware Like a joystick etc.

And it was from a retail version, XP Pro full, not upgrade, with SP1

It's an HP, model XT963, and I've had SP2 on for a while, since it first came out.

No, it was a full version install.

I just started doing this, the last thing I installed was over a week before it happened, WinDVR.

Does your machine boot into Windows at all and have you tried booting into safe mode?

I get the blue screen just after the Windows loading screen appears. It just restarts, I got the error messages by disabling automatic restarts on system failure. I cannot get into safe mode because it starts to load then just restarts.

Is your XP disk one supplied by HP (recovery) or is it a full retail version of the OS?

It's not HP. My HP came with Windows ME and a recovery partition. When XP came out, I got the full retail version of XP Pro and did a format and reinstall. No HP stuff in the OS.
