Freddie: I missed the 32 in my post..

Take a look in Task List Programs

However, the exectutable of a small trojan going by cmmon32sys can emulate that file..

Sherri.. Do a search for cmmon32.exe.. if it is in the c:\windows\system32\ folder it is okay.. If it is anywhere else, it may be the malware Freddie was referring to..

Murray ~ thank you. A search for cmmon32.exe reveals that it's only found in my C drive.

what could be causing it to somehow hang up during shut down and not close as it should?

I'm sorry I was not more specific. Here is where it is found.

C:\I386 application
C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch file
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 application

Thank you for your help

Thanks Murray. Do you know why it doesn't close properly when I am attempting to shut down my computer?

Also... what should I do about the blue screen that tells me a problem was detected and windows has to shut down. ?

thank you again
