Hi droke and welcome to the Geeks to Go Forums.

My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you with your log.

1. If you haven't logged in go to Geeks to Go and do so. Then proceed to item a.

If you already have logged in, go directly to item a.
  • Click on My Controls at the top right hand corner of the window.
  • In the left hand column, click "View Topics"
  • If you click on the title of your post, you will be taken there
2. Also, while at the My Controls page, check the box to the right of your post and then scroll down.
.Where it says "unsubscribe" click the pull-down menu and select "immediate email notification"

3. Please DELETE your current HJT program from its present location.

4. Download and run the following HijackThis autoinstall program from Here HJT needs to be in its own folder so that the program itself isn't deleted by accident. Having the backups could be VITAL to restoring your system if something went wrong in the FIX process!
  • Run HijackThis
  • Click SCAN and SAVE LOG. (a notepad window will open with the log in it when you click Save Log) (Ctrl-A to'select all', Ctrl-C to 'copy')
  • POST the ENTIRE log into this thread using 'Add Reply' (Ctrl-V to 'paste'). Your initial post was missing the upper half of the log

DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES OR CLICK "FIX CHECKED" UNTIL WE CHECK THE LOG, AS MOST OF THE FILES ARE LEGIT AND VITAL TO THE FUNCTION OF YOUR COMPUTER

Regards,

Trevuren

Hey thanks for the quick reply. Ive been running HJT for the last 24 hours with other programmes in and out of safe mode. I also took it upon myself to get rid of the popuper stuff by manually and it seems to have worked. Although a couple of things keep happening. My microsoft antiware keeps crashing when I run it and I can't change my background on my desktop using the right click method.

Hope that helps you.

Here's the log

Cheers

To be frank, you did not help. In fact you made things a lot more difficult by causing yourseld aftermath problems.

It is really important you perform everything exactly as I ask you in the same order, so I strongly suggest you print this out, because you have to work in safe mode. This is complicated so please take your time.

I need to disable your Microsoft AntiSpyware Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes.
  • Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
  • Click on Options, Settings.
  • In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
  • Under Startup Options uncheck: Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
  • Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck: Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
  • After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
  • Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware
1. Please download Process Explorer:
http://www.sysintern...s/procexpnt.zip

2. Download Killbox:
http://www.atribune....ads/KillBox.exe

3. Reboot into Safe Mode` ( without networking support !)

the rest of this fix must be done in safe mode.

4. Unzip Process Explorer and double click on procexp.exe

In the top section of the Process Exlporer screen double click on winlogon.exe to bring up the winlogon.exe properties screen.
Click on the Threads tab at the top.

Once you see this screen click on each instance of q54717820_disk.dll once and then click the kill button.

After you have killed all of the q54717820_disk.dll under winlogon click OK.

Next double click on explorer.exe and again click once on each instance of q54717820_disk.dll then click the kill button.
Click on the Threads tab at the top.

Once you have done that click OK again.

5. Next run HijackThis and place a check beside the following.

O20 - Winlogon Notify: style32 - C:\WINDOWS\q54717820_disk.dll

Now click fix checked and close HijackThis.

6. Double click on Killbox.exe and then check the delete on reboot button.

Enter the following filepath and filename into the Full path of file to delete box

C:\WINDOWS\q54717820_disk.dll

Click the red circle with the white x and allow your computer to reboot.

After your computer has rebooted please run Hijackthis again and post a new HijackThis log.

Trevuren

Hi I went through those steps pretty carefully but couldn't find that file (q54717820_disk.dll) in the winlogin.exe. It was in HJT but as the log shows is still there. Sorry for doing those things on my own and making it worse.

I think there's a problem in the registry as every time Microsoft antispyware goes through it it gets stuck.

Thanks for the quick reply again.

Cheers, here's the latest logfile.

Also C:\WINDOWS\q54717820_disk.dll didn't show up on killbox either, said it had already been deleted or something to that effect.

Cheers

1. Download Win32delfkil.exe

2. Save it to your desktop.

3. Double click on win32delfkil.exe and install it.
  • This creates a new folder on your desktop: win32delfkil
4. Close all windows, open the win32delfkil folder and double click on fix.bat.

The computer will reboot automatically

Okay did that. Seems like that file is still there though.

What is that file anyway? Is it causing the glitches on the hard drive, such as not being allowed to change the desktop background and forcing Microsoft Antispyware to crash?

Cheers

It is really important you perform everything exactly as I ask you in the same order, so I strongly suggest you print this out, because you have to work in safe mode. This is complicated so please take your time.

O20 - Winlogon Notify: style32 - C:\WINDOWS\q61258_disk.dll

Now click fix checked and close HijackThis.

6. Double click on Killbox.exe and then check the delete on reboot button.

Enter the following filepath and filename into the Full path of file to delete box

C:\WINDOWS\q54717820_disk.dll

Click the red circle with the white x and allow your computer to reboot.

After your computer has rebooted please run Hijackthis again and post a new HijackThis log.

Regards,

Trevuren

Seems like the computer is getting hit up again by all that crap. Couldn't find that file.

Cheers, am thinking of rebooting and formatting the disk to start again.

Hi

I've done those things and the comp is working okay although it takes ages to startup. The microsoft antispyware still forces the comp to crash when it searches the HKEY files. Couldn't find the EWIDO log but here is HJT and smit logs.
Cheers,

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.
  • First we need to make all files and folders VISIBLE:
    • Go to start>control panel>folder options>view (tab)
    • Choose to "show hidden files and folders,"
    • Uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" and the "hide extensions for know file types" boxes.
    • Close the window with ok
  • Please RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.

  • Place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: avldr - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\avldr.dll
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: style32 - C:\WINDOWS\q61258_disk.dll (file missing)

  • Now with all the items selected, and all windows closed except for HJT, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button. Close the HijackThis window.

  • Reboot Your System in Safe Mode

How to use the F8 method to Start Your Computer in Safe Mode

    • Restart the computer.
    • As soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
    • Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
    • Press Enter.
  • Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and DELETE them (if they are present):

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\avldr.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\q61258_disk.dll

  • Exit Explorer, and REBOOT BACK INTO NORMAL MODE

  • Finally, RUN Hijackthis again and produce a new HJT log. Post it in the forum so we can check how everything looks now.
Regards,

Trevuren
