Hi all, hope you can help. On trying to solve an unrelated problem recently, it was recommended to me that i download a program to wipe all the temp files off my system. I followed the advice and unfortunately it killed my pc! Complete XP reinstall required. All done now and everything is ok with two exceptions:

1. I have no sound. Nothing. Nada. Except a very noisy 'beep' whenever it suits it! All audio controls greyed out, from what i can make out drivers are ok and Windows Audio service is starting as you would expect. Absolutely no idea.

2. My graphics are a little iffy. Can't put my finger on what is wrong - but the screen seems a little 'stretched', writing is a little blurred. Again, this is since the reinstall.

With regard point 1, i have trawled through the posts and although a lot of people seem to have the same problem none of the fixes have helped.

I know i am probably missing something VERY obvious but i would love your assistance to work out what it is.

Many thanks in advance

Dave
