Hi Kmantis :tazz:

Lets try this shall we and see where it takes us.

Copy everything in the quote box below (starting with REGEDIT4) and paste it into Notepad. Go up to "File > Save As", then click the drop-down box to change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as fixware.reg on your desktop.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"System"=-
"System"=""

Double-click fixware.reg and when asked if you want to merge with the registry click YES.

After the merged successfully prompt, please reboot your computer.

After reboot, please download RKFiles from HERE
  • Unzip RKfiles.zip to the desktop
  • Double-click RKFiles.bat to run it.
    • It may take a while.
  • When it is finished a window should appear with a log.
  • Please copy the contents of the log and paste them here
    • Note: the log with be saved at c:\log.txt
Also send a new hijack log as well please. :)

Ok sorry for the delay, here's what i need next please.

Fire up hijack this, press scan only and place a check next to this.

O23 - Service: SmartFinder Uninstall (SmartFinder_Uninstall) - Unknown owner - C:\Documents and Settings\K Hutton\Desktop\SFUninstaller.exe" service (file missing)

Close all browsers and click fix on hijack this.

About that ini file lets see if we can stop it from running.

Go to start/all programs/startup and remove this if in there.

desktop.ini

Then I would like to have some files analized.

Jotti File Submission:
  • Please go to Jotti's malware scan

      C:\XP\system32\rdsndin.exe
      C:\XP\system32\ntfsnlpa.exe
  • Click on the submit button
  • Please post the results in your next reply.

RadLightMPCUninstall.exe
MIGHT BE INFECTED/MALWARE (Sandbox emulation took a long time and/or runtime packers were found, this is suspicious. Normally programs aren't packed and don't force the sandbox into lengthy emulation. Do realize no scanner issued any warning, the file can very well be harmless. Caution is advised, however.)

Please do this step next, find those two files once again, and delete them both.

C:\XP\system32\rdsndin.exe<---This file
C:\XP\system32\ntfsnlpa.exe<---This file

Reboot and show me a new log and a new silent runners please.

And about that ini, did it show back up again?

Ok thank you, lets see what this does for us.

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://forums.subrat...e=post&id=43811
http://swandog46.gee.../Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

When your system reboots, follow the prompts. Afterwards, HijackThis will launch. Please click Scan, and check the following items:

O23 - Service: SmartFinder Uninstall (SmartFinder_Uninstall) - Unknown owner - C:\Documents and Settings\K Hutton\Desktop\SFUninstaller.exe" service (file missing)

Click Fix Checked. Close HijackThis, and click OK to proceed.

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

Finally, please post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt, along with a new HijackThis log.

Hmm ok lets tackle one thing at a time, shall we?

About that Hclean.exe is it now gone?

That ini prob is starting to annoy me, i will post back to my source and see if they can shed some light on that.

About that 023 that's not terribly hard to get rid of, in fact lets do that right now.

Click on Start, then on Run and type this in the box :

services.msc

and hit "Enter". Scroll down the list until you find this Service :

SmartFinder Uninstall

When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok and close any open windows.

Let me know about that Hclean file please, and as always show me a new log. :tazz:
