I tried to reformat my computer just now and went through the whole deal with booting from the CD and reinstalling and everything, and it looks like it worked. But I opened up My Computer and all the program files are still there and some of my folders are still titled in blue. I don't actually think I have any programs still here, but the folders are. I'm very confused. Please help.

Did you try formatting from the Dos prompt?

Here is a link to a form that deals with formating and doing a clean install of Windows XP.

Now the folders that have blue text are folders that are folders/files that are Compress. Now the green folders/files are encrypted.

Hope that this helps.
