Hey, just got the new msn 7.5 and it won't let me connect at all. I took a few screen shots of what my problem is and it seems like it should be working fine. All the tests on it seem ok anyhow.

PS: I did eveything on this previous link, and it still doesn't work.

I don't have any firewalls cept my Norton AntiVirus 2005 and I use a Wireless-B (802.11b) BEFW11S4 LinkSys Router. I've been messing with the ports, but it makes no sense that my ports on 7.0 would be so different 7.5.

Got it!

Click Start, and go to Run.
Type the following: regsvr32 MSXML3.dll
Restart MSN Messenger

After 3 hours of google searching, I figured it out. =P

I am completley hopeless when it comes to computers but I love my msn! I need help cause I have just downloaded the new msn but it isn't working- I have tried everything that people have suggested (diabling firewall (Norton) and adjusting internet settings etc) At first it just wasn't coneecting but now I can't even open msn or even access the hotmail website. I have just got new broadband internet- could that be affecting what I am trying to do? Can anybody help me? :tazz:

many thanks, that solved my issue..

I like my clock wrong though because of resetting bios and things.. just stays wrong perminantly..

windows update and msn are only 2 things thats are used by me that are affected by it..

AV software is not installed so thats not an issue..

I dable in reverse engineering so i will probebly patch my msn to allow a wrong clock..

I dont get why it matters though?

ah well.. just so you know you helped me man!

Hi there,
I'm having the exact same problem as Dark Metroid.
I found his post and thought FINALLY an answer to my problem!
I have the EXACT same response, about the firewall, I have no windows firewall running, and due to other suggestions I have even uninstalled nortons and am running AVG now which I had no problems with on my desktop.
However I tried the suggestion of the run thing and no change!
I have a feeling my problem is not to do with msn msgnr tho as before I had even downloaded it I was unable to access hotmail.
My laptop is brand new and I am running on a wireless network, but I am able to acces my hotmail through another laptop which is running on the same wireless connection.
Does anyone think it might help to download an earlier version of MSN msgnr?
I am SO running out of ideas on this it is driving me CRAZY!
ANY help would be muchly appreciated!!!!!!!!!
