Trez123,

Welcome to the GTG Forums, I will be reviewing your HJT log.
Please read "ALL" of the instructions before proceeding:

Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

This process will take a few steps, please take your time and follow the directions in the order posted.
If you don't understand something please ask before performing any task..

Please download VundoFix.exe and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files.
  • This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
  • After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
  • Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
  • You will first be presented with a warning and a list of forums to seek help at.
    It should look like this

    VundoFix V2.1 by Atri
By pressing enter you agree that you are using this at your own risk
Please seek assistance at one of the following forums:
    http://www.atribune.org/forums
    http://www.247fixes.com/forums
    http://www.geekstogo.com/forum
    http://forums.net-integration.net

  • At this point press enter one time.

  • Next you will see:

Type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff
Then Press Enter, Then F6, Then Enter Again to continue with the fix.

  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
    • C:\WINDOWS\Help\Tours\psftp.dll
  • Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.

  • Next you will see:

Please type in the second filepath as instructed by the forum staff
Then Press Enter, Then F6, Then Enter Again to continue with the fix.

  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):C:\WINDOWS\Help\Tours\ptfsp.*
  • Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.
  • The fix will run then HijackThis will open.
  • Now place a checkmark next to each of the following items:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {827DC836-DD9F-4A68-A602-5812EB50A834} - C:\WINDOWS\Help\Tours\psftp.dll
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: psftp - C:\WINDOWS\Help\Tours\psftp.dll

Now click the Fix Checked button.
  • After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis and Press any key to Force a reboot of your computer.
  • Pressing any key will cause a "Blue Screen of Death" this is normal, do not worry!
  • Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.
Download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).

  • Delete Cookies
  • Delete Prefetch files
  • Cleanup! All Users
Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic. by using Add Reply

Trez123,

Please read "ALL" of the instructions before proceeding:

You will need to print out these instructions for a reference or you can
save them by copying and pasting them into notepad and saving the text file to the desktop.

This process will take a few steps, please take your time and follow the directions in the order posted.
If you don't understand something please ask before performing any task..

Scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to each of the following items.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {827DC836-DD9F-4A68-A602-5812EB50A834} - C:\WINDOWS\Help\Tours\psftp.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE

O20 - Winlogon Notify: psftp - C:\WINDOWS\Help\Tours\psftp.dll (file missing)

Close all browsers and open windows except HJT, then click the Fix Checked button. Close HJT.

Now using Windows Explorer find and remove the following file:

C:\WINDOWS\ALCXMNTR.EXE <-- File

Then, please run this online virus scan: Active Scan

It will produce a report at the end of the scan, post those results and a new HJT log by using Add Reply

Thanks,

We need to do a few things first. You will need to remove/delete the old version of Vundofix.exe and the VundoFix folder from your desktop. There is a newer version of the fix. This is important.

Now do the following:

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
  • This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
  • After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
  • Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
  • You will first be presented with a warning.
    It should look like this

    VundoFix V2.14 by Atri
By using VundoFix you agree that you are doing so at your own risk
    Press enter to continue....

  • At this point press enter one time.
  • Next you will see:

Type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff
Then Press Enter, Then F6, Then Enter Again to continue with the fix.

  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\awtss.dll
  • Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.
  • Next you will see:

Please type in the second filepath as instructed by the forum staff
Then Press Enter, Then F6, Then Enter Again to continue with the fix.

  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):C:\WINDOWS\system32\sstwa.*
  • Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.
  • The fix will run then HijackThis will open, if it does not open automatically please open it manually.
  • In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:
    O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {52B1DFC7-AAFC-4362-B103-868B0683C697} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\awtss.dll
    O2 - BHO: Bho - {FEF81F8F-2599-49e1-B8AC-30869CFB0EED} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\xqnqbltj.dll

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: awtss - C:\WINDOWS\system32\awtss.dll
  • After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis and Press any key to Force a reboot of your computer.
  • Pressing any key will cause a "Blue Screen of Death" this is normal, do not worry! If you do not receive the "Blue Screen of Death", please manually reboot the computer.
  • Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.
Download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
  • Empty Recycle Bins
  • Delete Cookies
  • Delete Prefetch files
  • Cleanup! All Users
Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic by using Add Reply

Thanks,

Please download Pocket Killbox
Click Here to download Pocket Killbox by Option^Explicit.
Save the file to your desktop, don't run it just yet.

Please download ewido security suite it is a free version of the program.
  • Install ewido security suite
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
    • Install background guard
    • Install scan via context menu
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
  • The program will now open to the main screen.
  • When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  • You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
    • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
    • Then click on Start Update.
  • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
(the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.
ewido manual updates

Do not run it just yet.

Now lets run Killbox
  • Double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
  • In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
  • In the field labeled Full Path of File to Delete enter the file paths listed below: (EXACTLY as it appears, please double check to make sure!):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\geedc.dll
  • Press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it.
  • When it asks if you would like to delete on reboot, press the YES button, when it asks if you want to reboot now, press the YES button.
  • If you receive a message and your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.
Once your system starts to reboot we need to go into SafeMode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.

Once in SafeMode run ewido security suite.
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK
  • When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a check in the lower left corner of the box that says "Perform action on all infections" then choose clean and click OK.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop.
Now close ewido security suite.

After the scan has completed make sure to save the report, then reboot your system back into Normal Mode and post the results from the ewido scan and a new HJT Log by using Add Reply.

Thanks,

Trez123,

OK, let run the Vundo Fix again. First you need to delete any older versions you have, this includes:

VundoFix.exe and the VundoFix Folder. The tool has been updated....

Once you have done that please proceed with these instructions.

Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

    VundoFix V2.15 by Atri
By using VundoFix you agree that you are doing so at your own risk
    Press enter to continue....

  • At this point press enter one time.
  • Next you will see:

Please Type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff
    and then press enter:

  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\awvtt.dll
  • Press Enter to continue with the fix.
  • Next you will see:

Please type in the second filepath as instructed by the forum
    staff then press enter:

  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):C:\WINDOWS\system32\ttvwa.*
  • Press Enter to continue with the fix.
  • The fix will run then HijackThis will open, if it does not open automatically please open it manually.
  • In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:
    O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {FC148228-87E1-4D00-AC06-58DCAA52A4D1} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\awvtt.dll
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: awvtt - C:\WINDOWS\system32\awvtt.dll
  • After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis.
  • Press enter to exit the program then manually reboot your computer.

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

Thanks,

Scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to each of the following items:

O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {FC148228-87E1-4D00-AC06-58DCAA52A4D1} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\awvtt.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

O20 - Winlogon Notify: awvtt - C:\WINDOWS\system32\awvtt.dll (file missing)

Now close all browsers and open windows except HJT, then click the Fix Checked button. Close HJT.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\awtss.dll
  • Press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it.
  • When it asks if you would like to delete on reboot, press the YES button, when it asks if you want to reboot now, press the YES button.
  • If you receive a message and your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.
Once you have rebooted back into Normal Mode you may want to do the following:

If you don't have these programs installed here are some directions on how to run them:

Ad-Aware SE Setup

Spybot S&D Setup

Run those two programs and remove the entries they find.

Then please post a new HJT log by using Add Reply.

Thanks,
