Internet Problems

This computer is Running Windows ME. Roughly every 1.5 minutes the computer disconnects from the internet for about 2 seconds. This is such an inconvienience! It's not so bad on the web, but when playing online games or attempting to download anything, it simply doesn't work. It's not the modem that disconnects, I am on Comcast Cable. It's just like the computer stops getting the info, then fixes. Please help or advise what further information is necessary. Keep in mind I can't download service packs. Thanks

Howdy:

Have you checked to make sure all proper drivers are installed for the NIC??

Also, have you checked this system for malware??
